Last night Adam and I were invited to Chick-Fil-A's Customer Appreciation Dinner. It was so much fun! It was held out at Wildwood Park for the Performing Arts and though it was quite a cold and rainy evening, the enthusiasm once inside the building was electric! Who doesn't get excited about Chick-Fil-A?
We got the royal treatment...there was a red carpet to walk down, there were waiters walking around with appetizer trays of nugget hors d'oeuvres, we got a gift bag with a book by Truett Cathy (the founder and chairman of CFA), along with 10 "Be Our Guest" Free Sandwich cards...it was a fun evening from start to finish!
There were plenty of cows walking around, cowbells to ring, pompoms to shake and megaphones to yell through. There were competitions for more prizes (everything from name that tune to lemon squeezing). We got to see videos of new commercials that will be airing soon and of course, we got to partake of the DELICIOUS goodness that only Chick-Fil-A can make, the Original (or Spicy) Chicken Sandwich! I ate my one sandwich while my husband (spurred on by one of the Owner Operators) ate 3, yes 3 Spicy Chicken Sandwiches!
It was an inspiring evening as we got to hear from the President of the company, Dan Cathy, as he talked about the original vision of the company and the story of how its grown to be the brand we've all come to love. The heart beat of the company is amazing...he said, it's really 30% about feeding people and 70% dealing with the emotional/physical needs of people. I LOVED that! Though they have excellent food quality and products, their focus isn't just on that, its on customer service, because at the end of the day, the one thing you'll remember (long after you pay for your meal and eat it) is how you were treated. THAT'S.SO.TRUE!!
It really was so fun to be apart of the night, just as they "paid it forward" to their loyal customers, they challenged us all to "pay if forward" by encouraging someone else. The 10 "Be Our Guest" cards are to be used to help someone else...to be given away to others. I loved the idea of that! See what I mean, it was just inspiring!
Thanks Chick-Fil-A, we'll definitely be eating with you again soon!
