Every other year we take a beach trip with all of Adam's side of the family. It's always a time that is highly anticipated for everyone, cause anticipation is half the fun!
We rolled out of Little Rock bright and early Saturday morning, fairly loaded to the brim. This picture of the bikes pretty much cracks me up! It looks slightly insane, but I'm so glad we took them with us cause we've used them several times already.
The kids actually did well on the drive down. We pretty much alternated a movie with 30-40 minutes of school work review or reading which worked out pretty good. I also picked up some Brain Quest Games that are for particular ages and the older boys did good with those, it was pretty fun.
The first few days we have enjoyed be-au-tiful weather, its truly been perfect, breezy and warm! This is our view all week long! How perfect is that?
We've been having a great time together and enjoying each others company! The first morning here, the cousins were super excited to see each other and the beach…Jojo came up to our room and I thought this was such a cute moment to capture. They were watching Poppy and Grammy as they had their morning quiet time and coffee. How precious is this?
Our day on the beach got started with the red swim suit posse…guess somebody must've sent out a memo or something!
"Look, Mom! I found a sea shell!"
Here's sweet, easy, going Malachi, he's such a smiley little guy.
How cute are Kenny and Grace?! They were trying to build a sand castle but couldn't quite get the right consistency.
We've done a little relaxing and a lot of chasing little people around on the beach, since we have 7 kiddos all under 7 years old and 3 of them are under 2! But it's been mostly fun with a few hairy moments sprinkled in to "keep it real".
There's been lots of swimming and enjoyment of the water!
And after all that water fun, Ava Jane needed a little nappy poozie. With the gulf breeze blowing and the sound of the ocean crashing on the beach, who wouldn't be lulled to sleep? She slept like a champ!
Between the bar stools and kitchen chairs, there's been plenty of seats, which is pretty amazing since there's 17 of us! And while I'm on the subject, I'll just say we've been eating quite well these past days. We decided to let each couple take a night and cook for the group, and that's been real fun and oh so tasty!
So far we've enjoyed one night of looking for crabs. We didn't see as many as we usually have in the past, but the kids had a blast!
Oh how breath-taking the scenes have been early in the morning and late in the evening. Our God is such a creative and artistic God…everything is picturesque and lovely to take in.
Oh how I love this boy and those adorable freckles that pop out across his nose and cheeks when he's been out in the sun.
So, that's the start to our week, there's more memories and more fun to make!
