Beach Trip 2018 - Part 1

Every other year we go to the beach with all of Adam's side of the family. It's something we look forward to doing every time and there is always a lot of anticipation and planning that goes into a trip like this. Usually we go to Navarre Beach (in between Pensacola and Destin), its where Adam's family has been going for decades now.  But this year however, we had a few things that limited the weeks we could go and due to our large number of people (20 to be exact) in one house, trying to find the right house, on the beach side of the road, was a little tricky, so this year we ended up going to Gulf Shores.  It was a great time catching up with cousins and siblings alike and being able to just chill out with my toes in the sand and a cold drink in my hand.

We were worried the whole drive down that Hurricane Alberto was gonna put a damper on our trip, but thankfully the storm turned and all we had was one afternoon of rain, the rest of the week was perfectly blue skies with beautiful turquoise water to enjoy.

This year the boys wanted to dig a huge mote and build a castle city.  They got some help from the adults but for the most part stayed busy digging and shoveling sand into place.

There was some boogie boarding and lots of floating around in the huge waves.

We enjoyed being on the beach on Memorial Day weekend.  These cutie patootie cousins had fun being together all week long, there were moments of arguments and squabbling but for the most part they did great.

Kameron, did not love every minute of the sand business, but we had plenty of hands to hold her.

Finding sea shells was a major hit with Ava Jane.

Trip to Cali Part 3

Our second morning in Napa we chose to do a champagne tasting earlier in the day so that we could just chill out by the pool at the resort all afternoon. We did a champagne tasting at Domaine Carneros which was beautiful and lovely.

After enjoying time by the pool we went to our couples massage at the spa and it was wonderful.

Afterward we were relaxed and feeling pretty good.  (Though the next day we were both sore from our deep tissue massage.)

We had made a reservation in downtown Napa at Celadon which is a renowned restaurant that is located in Downtown Napa along the riverfront and serves award winning global fare that was amazing!

Our few days away together were really such a treat and a blessing!  I love being with Adam, seeing new places and experiencing new things.  I'm so grateful for my parents and sister who helped keep the kids so that we could make this trip happen.  Getting away from the hustle and bustle of our reality was truly wonderful.  Napa---you did not disappoint, we look forward to seeing you again soon.
